Synopsis/Description: Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is cynical and loyal, and she doesn't think she's the prettiest of her friends by a long shot. She's also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush. In fact, Bianca hates him. And when he nicknames her "Duffy," she throws her Coke in his face.
But things aren't so great at home right now. Desperate for a distraction, Bianca ends up kissing Wesley. And likes it. Eager for escape, she throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with Wesley.
Until it all goes horribly awry. It turns out that Wesley isn't such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she's falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone.
First line of Book:This was getting old.
Review:I wasn't really sure of what to expect when I started reading The DUFF.
I was disappointed when I found out there's lots of meaningless sex in the beginning, and that its just after that then feelings come. Like, WTF?
Appart fro that "minor" thing, I really liked this book.
Bianca is one of those girls you either love or hate. Personally, I wasn't very sure till more or less the middle. Then I started loving her. She is, as Toby says, "...pretty great, Bianca. You tell it like it is, you don't seem like you're afraid to be yourself, and you're a Democrat. That makes you awesome in my book." I completely agree with him. Well, except with the Democrat thing but you get the point.
Wesley was odd. He was funny too, but he was mostly odd. I wasn't sure if I'd like him or not, and I'm still not sure. Though I think I'm liking him more now.
The whole book was pretty well written, and the whole message was also good. So, I'd recommend it for teens who like realistic fiction and who - uh - don't mind some cursing, because Bianca curses a lot.
Rating: 4/5
Quotes from book:
"Wesley Rush was the most disgusting womanizing playboy to ever darken the doorstep of Hamilton High… but he was kind of hot. Maybe if you could put him on mute… and cut off his hands… maybe—just maybe—he’d be tolerable then. Otherwise, he was a real piece of shit. Horn dog shit."
"You're a disgusting, shallow, womanizing jackass, and I hope that soda stains your preppy little shirt." Just before I marched away, i looked over my shoulder and added, "And my name isn't Duffy. it's Bianca. we've been in the same homeroom since middle school, you selfabsorbed son of a bitch."

I'm really looking forward to reading this one (I'm a huge fan of realistic YA). I don't think I'll really mind the sex too much, because I've seen that happen quite often in real life. The message and concept of this one are absolutely fantastic I was captivated from the moment I read the synopsis :)
