Review:The Iron King is a novel I was not sure of. Faeries were never my thing, but this seemed so interesting. So I got it anyway.
As it turns out, it was very entertaining.
I found myself liking Meghan from the beginning. I thought she was sensible, most of the times, and not whiny. I really started respecting her after she talked to her father for the first time.
Puck sounds like a very interesting character, though we don't get to know him that well, but I'll have to wait and see.
ash was another character I didn't fully understand. In the beginning, all I saw was a mask, but I knew he was more than the cruel, cold-hearted bastard he showed. I don't know how, because he didn't to anything...special - if you know what I mean- but I still liked him, which was odd.
I really liked Kagawa's writing and though the story was not entirely unpredictable, it was still enjoyable.
The fairies were based on Shakespeare's A midsummer Night's Dream, and though I've read it, I don't remember it very well, so I can't tell you how close and faithful they are to the original ones. However, in terms of myths, they were not very original, with the exception of the Iron Fey.
I want to know how it will turn out in the end, I really do. If you like faeries stories, you might like it.

I'm really enjoying this series as well... I don't care for Ash that much, yet I still enjoy the books and the relationships in them. I've never really read faery books before, so I'm not sure how these compare... they are such good reads, though.
